The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in the state of California aged 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.

The renowned video game developer died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"This is an unimaginable loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his loved ones, and all those touched by his legacy," a representative from Electronic Arts stated.
