Trump Invites Families of Shot Guard Soldiers to White House

Former President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Tragic Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Memorials across the state have been held in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president told the press. “And likewise with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Response

Community members assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s government program to assist law enforcement in the capital.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that instructors hoped for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a positive energy that inspired people around her,” the principal, the head of Beckstrom’s alma mater, told the press. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Steps and Government Changes

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy led the administration to suspend asylum processing and temporarily stop granting entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Status of the Airman

Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor the governor said on a news program.

Attorney general Bondi told the program that she aimed to visit Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a MP with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” the governor told the gathering at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to last forever.”
