"Look at this extensive accomplishment. Look at this act of genocide," a fighter shouts.

The fighter beams as he turns the recording device on himself and his companion militiamen, their RSF badges visible: "These people are all going to die this way."

These individuals are rejoicing over a mass killing that humanitarian officials fear resulted in the deaths of more than thousands of civilians in the African urban center of al-Fashir during October.

An Urban Center Isolated from the Outside

Having held the community under blockade for approximately 24 months, from August the militia proceeded to consolidate its control and blockade the leftover residents.
