An Australian man who vaulted across a fence and grabbed actress Ariana Grande has been deported and barred from Singapore.

The man, 26, was given a sentence to nine days in jail for being a public nuisance and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority informed news outlets.

Wen pushed through camera crews and approached aggressively the celebrity, who was present at the regional launch for Wicked: For Good on November 13. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

He has a background of interrupting performances and high-profile gatherings, including leaping onto the platform at the pop star's Australian show in this summer.

The incident sparked outrage in Singapore, with numerous people saying he of causing further distress to the star.

The singer has spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at her concert in the UK city in spring of 2017 resulted in the deaths of 22 people and affected hundreds.

During Wen's trial, the authorities learned he had attempted to intrude on the movie's debut on two occasions, according to Singaporean media.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Event security prevented him and pinned him down.

He then uploaded recordings thanking Grande for permitting his access and said he was "free."

Law enforcement detained him the next day and accused him with causing a disturbance, to which he confessed.

The Court Judge the judicial official was quoted by Channel News Asia as remarking that the man sought attention, noting that he was mistaken to think he would not suffer any consequences.

The singer has not addressed the situation.

The co-star spoke about the event to a media outlet, saying that she "only aimed to verify my colleague was safe."

"I think he didn't mean us danger, but you cannot be certain with such situations, and I wanted to ensure that she was alright. That was my immediate response," she stated.
