Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a former doctor now faces charges for performing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
