In a bizarre collaboration that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Uncovered

According to the formal announcement, "An unusual encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of forbidden rituals and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine sect.

The mission centers on "strange trials and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Changes

The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Additional Features

Players who accomplish the quest will acquire an unique katana in addition to multiple objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
